Kendo Nagasaki

Introduction

Peter Thornley is a retired English professional wrestler who was best known for the ring character Kendo Nagasaki. The character of Nagasaki was a Japanese Samurai with a mysterious past and reputed powers of healing and hypnosis. He was one of the biggest draws of all time in British Wrestling.
December 20th 1977, Civic Hall, Wolverhampton, Kendo shocked the world by revealing his secret identity. Accompanied in the ring by Gorgeous George and two acolytes from his sacred Inner Circle, Kendo was unmasked. After thrusting his samurai sword into the canvas, his mask was cast into a ceremonious flame and destroyed.
Kendo spent the next three decades in Japan meditating. Completely isolated and cut off the outside world, he would only receive monthly visits from his 'inner circle' druids with offerings of fresh fish, wine and aqua fresh. One spring morning Kendo awoke to greet the druids on their arrival. To his surprise they didn't come, but a letter lay in a clearing near his home. This invitation from Ginger McMahon to compete at Slender Slam was all it took for Kendo to return to England and challenge for one of wrestling's most prestigious titles.
