Big Daddy

Early Life

Shirley Crabtree Jr. better known to many British Wrestling fans as Big Daddy, was an English professional wrestler with a record-breaking 64-inch chest. After splitting with long time tag partner and fellow Slenderslam 4 inductee Giant Haystacks, he turned the biggest baby face of all time and a firm fan favourite.
In the 80's it was common on a Saturday morning to tune in to World of Sport and witness Frank Bough waxing lyrical about Big Daddy, Sadly for the wrestling world he was not talking about Wrestling but the behemoth butt plug he often wore when hosting the show.

Ginger McMahon had continuously looked stateside for his talent but very occasionally he would bring homegrown wrestlers applying their trade here in the UK, talent like Giant Haystacks, Marty Scurll and of course The Farmer (seen also at Slenderslam 5) some said this was to help promote the British Wrestling Federations, but of course that is not true, the mighty Ginger one is driven by money and seeks to save on air fair wherever possible.
This event, for the British Legend, was not one of his finest, it was clear to the 10's of fans that arrived that Big Daddy was now legend, past his prime and clearly drunk, he staggered through his entrance missed his spots and was not able to keep his hat on straight.
He got visibly upset when the Waterloo faithful started to chant 'There's only one team in Shirley' which Big Daddy mistakenly thought was in reference to his induction forfeit for at his St Helens Rugby debut. Following some choice words an arm round the shoulder from Mitch Sizemore, Big Daddy returned to the venue.
On his return, the Slenderslam faithful started the famous 'Easy, Easy' chant, unfortunately a couple of the venues regulars thought they were directing this at the Waterloo WAGs and all hell broke loose. This was a pickle that even silver tongued Sizemore could not dig Crabtree out of and had to conceded that Big Daddy's Slenderslam appearance was like being in a Backlund cross-face chicken wing and tapped out.
As a result we never saw they British Legend on the mic and never got the pleasure of him in a verbal joust with big Mitch.

Post Slenderslam

Big Daddy quit the wrestling game soon after Slenderslam, claiming that after what he witnessed in The Waterloo Arms confirmed his fears and the wrestling world he loved for so long had left him behind.
Within six months Shirley Crabtree was hosting Saturday morning kids television show, 'Riddled With Crabs', supported by entertainment stalwarts Tommy Boyd and Neal Buchanan. The show lasted for 4 episodes, until Boyd, a notorious ball-bag, claimed wrestling was an act.Crabtree vowed to never make Saturday morning TV again and Boyd is survived by his wife of 23 years, Morag and Daughters Sadie and Melissa.

The doubters says it won't happen. But they don't really know us. We're the people who survive head first falls from trees. The ones that endure self inflicted eye injuries yet still wear face paint. We're the party that started in 2009 and refuses to stop. We are Slender Slam.
